English Week 2025: A Global Celebration at Our School

2025-02-26

From February 17th to 21st, the English Panel hosted a much-anticipated English Week. This annual event, which encourages students to explore and engage with the English language, was packed with activities that brought together the joy of learning and the richness of global cultures.

One of the main highlights of the week was the three days of game booths, which transformed the campus into a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the world. Students immersed themselves in activities inspired by countries far and wide, such as the lively South African Mbube Circle Game and the strategic Ghanaian Oware board game. The Mexican booths were bursting with energy, with students crafting tacos and dancing the iconic Mexican Hat Dance in festive costumes. In other corners, students tested their skills with Kazakhstan’s Assyk throwing game, joined the thrilling Korean K-pop Dance Challenge, created paper cup windmills inspired by the Netherlands, and explored the World Map Knowledge Game to test their geography skills and learn fascinating global facts.

What made these booths truly special was the opportunity for students to interact with the hosts, who came from diverse backgrounds and represented cultures from many countries. Through these conversations, students discovered how English serves as a bridge that connects people from all around the world, making it clear that language is a powerful tool for communication and understanding.

Another highlight of the week was the English Book Fair, which transformed the school hall into a haven for avid readers. Tables were filled with a wide array of books, and students eagerly browsed the selections, discussing their favorite genres and swapping recommendations with friends. It was heartwarming to see so many young readers with books in hand, their faces alight with excitement as they shared their discoveries.

In short, English Week was brilliantly received. The students’ energy and curiosity brought the event to life, and it was inspiring to see them embrace the English language in so many fun and meaningful ways. We hope this week has sparked a deeper appreciation for both language and culture and look forward to more exciting opportunities to learn and grow together in the future!
