Summer Blast in Britain

2024-08-20

During the summer holidays, twenty students from S2 to S4 participated in an enriching two-week English study tour to the United Kingdom, designed to bolster their language skills and cultural understanding.

The tour featured a diverse itinerary combining inter-cultural English lessons taught by native speakers and project-based learning with visits to iconic British landmarks. Students explored sites such as the University of Cambridge, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the London Eye. These excursions provided authentic contexts for language learning and offered insights into British culture and heritage. Museum and gallery visits also allowed them to delve into art history, natural science and human civilisation.

The journey of discovery extended to Southwark Cathedral, where students immersed themselves in Anglican and choral traditions.

In addition to boosting their confidence in English, the immersive experience facilitated cultural exchanges and fostered a sense of global citizenship among them, contributing to a well-rounded educational experience.
